Visited for the brunch buffet, it was superb! A very nice selection of assorted warm and cold dishes, all of which were very tasty. Friendly and fast service, set in a beautiful atmosphere on the water. Inside seating for brunch only, but it was such a nice place with a good view. Would definitely recommend and return.
Beautiful hotel and restaurant! Special requested a wine for my girlfriend and I. It was at the table and cold for us. The wine service was impeccable the server was truly trained on how to present a bottle and serve it. I was impressed. Our entire meal was fast and tasted amazing!
AMAZING! We stayed two nights in the harbor view Suite in the captain's building and honestly we're treated like royalty our entire stay. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous our entire stay. Breakfast at the Wave Restaurant was very good and the price was fair, although we did wait a little longer for food. Dinner was delicious and drinks were well made! The atmosphere created through the recent Renovations is wonderful. The butterfly Salon and Spa was also amazing. We enjoyed one of the best massages I've ever had. Again the staff here was so incredibly hospitable and generous. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Port Jeff!
I called and explained that i will be staying in the area for a funeral in my immediate family. Someone named Corrine gave me $5 off the online price and said it was the bereavement rate but said I had to speak w/reservations. After a disproportionately long time on hold, someone answered and flatly said there is no bereavement rate. I explained that i don't know why someone at the front desk of the hotel would have said there was, and she just said in an even ruder voice that there isn't. I explained that i was calling-again-because my father had just died and i had to stay at the hotel (isn't that when someone in a service industry might be nice? not rude?). I said I didn't understand why the hotel didn't have a consistent policy or have trained both employees on their rates and she just kept saying I was wrong. Perhaps she has never had anyone close to her die, to realize it's usually more helpful to be nice to customers who are paying money to the place where you get paid. Eventually when I told her i was in a hurry since, again, I was trying to make travel plans due to having a death in my immediate family, she offered to transfer me back to the desk and I said "If the front desk can't make my reservation, what good is that?" Then after another even longer hold, finally I got Corrine again who gave me the whopping $5 off the online booking price where I have now spent a lot more than $5 wasting my time waiting for and speaking with those two insensitive idiots.
I recently attended my friend's wedding at Danford's hotel and marina and I felt they pulled it off masterfully well. The music, scenery, the transitions from one event to the next were all seamless and handled by Danford's very professional staff. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food, but I didn't have much first hand experience with it since I'm Vegan and the menu often didn't offer any vegan or vegetarian options. Even when the event ended and people didn't quite wanna leave we had the option to prolong our night at Danford's bar downstairs, which was fully stocked with beer, wine, and liquor. All in all, i can confidently say everyone in the wedding party had an exceptional evening, one that they will remember fondly for years to come.
